Xeomin™

Xeomin™ Neurotoxin is it better than botox?

Xeomin is a type of botulinum toxin, just like Botox and Dysport.  It works by relaxing the muscles beneath the skin, smoothing out the wrinkles on the surface. Xeomin is FDA approved for the treatment of frown lines and crow’s feet, making it a popular choice for patients who want to smooth out these wrinkles. It is made from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, and it does not contain any additives or preservatives.

Is Xeomin Better Than Botox or Dysport?

Whether Xeomin is better than Botox or Dysport is subjective and can depend on the individual patient. However, there are some differences that make Xeomin a better option for certain patients. For example, Xeomin contains no additives, so there is less risk of allergic reactions or immune responses. Additionally, it has been shown to have a lower risk of resistance than Botox since it does not contain any proteins. Those who have previously used Botox may develop a resistance to it over time, making it less effective. However, since Xeomin is relatively new to the market, there is still much to learn about its long-term effectiveness.

What Are the Side Effects of Xeomin?

Like all botulinum toxin treatments, Xeomin can have side effects. However, most of these side effects are mild and resolve themselves within a few days. The most common side effects include soreness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site. For some patients, they may also experience dry mouth, drooping eyelids, or difficulty swallowing. These side effects are typically rare and can be minimized by choosing an experienced and licensed injector.

how long does Xeomin last?

Like Botox and Dysport, Xeomin lasts for about three to four months on average. However, the duration can vary depending on various factors such as the area of treatment, the amount of product used, and the individual’s metabolism. After the Xeomin begins to wear off, you may notice the return of wrinkles and fine lines; it is recommended that you wait at least 3 months before getting another treatment.
