Daxxify™ Neurotoxin: HoW it differs from Botox™ and Dysport™
What is daxxiyfy?
Daxxify® (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) is an alternative to Botox that uses a novel stabilizing peptide molecule that helps to stabilize the neurotoxin and prolonging its effectiveness. Daxxify is expected to last longer than Botox and may last 6- 12 months or longer.
i'm i a good candidate for daxxify?
If you are new to neurotoxins, it may be helpful to start with a Botox, Dysport or Xeomin to find your optimal dose, placement areas and effect before using a longer acting neurotoxin such as Daxxify. This way in the event of an unlikely but possible reaction such as Ptosis, you don’t have to wait so long for the toxin to wear off and the adverse reaction to correct itself.
What areas of the face is Daxxify used for?
While the new addition to neurotoxin injections is FDA approved for treating frown lines, it is also used “off label” for other areas such as bunny lines, crows feet, forehead and neck lines.
HOw much Daxxify will I need?
As recommended by its maker, Revance the conversion ratio for units is 2:1. This means 40 units of Daxxify ins required to treat an area that would require 20 units of Botox.
how much does Daxxify cost?
The cost for Daxxify injections will typically be is twice what it would cost for Botox or Xeomin injections. The added expense however is offset by the benefit of longer lasting results with may be 2-3x longer then other neurotoxins.
what are the side effects of daxxify?
There may be some mild swellings and redness at the treatment site following their Daxxify injections. Bruising is also common, but can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Daxxify is a safe and effective way to help reduce wrinkles and facial lines while preserving natural expressions.
With proper care, you can look your best and feel their best for up to 18 months after treatment. It’s a great alternative to Botox that offers longer lasting results with less downtime.
what is the after care daxxify?
This includes avoiding sun exposure before and after treatment, as well as using an effective moisturizer twice daily to keep skin hydrated. In addition, patients may be instructed to avoid makeup, hair and skin products that contain heavy fragrances or alcohols.
