Intimalase® Vaginal Rejuvenation McLean VA | Non-Surgical Vaginal Tightening | En Santé Med
In good health & in full confidence
Intimalase® vaginal rejuvenation is a non-surgical laser treatment designed to improve vaginal laxity, restore tissue tone, and support intimate wellness. Changes related to childbirth, aging, or hormonal shifts can affect vaginal firmness, comfort, and confidence.
At En Santé Clinic & Medical Spa, Intimalase® offers a safe, hormone-free solution to strengthen vaginal tissue and enhance function without surgery or downtime.
Intimalase® may be appropriate if you:
• Experience vaginal laxity after childbirth
• Notice reduced vaginal tone or firmness
• Have mild stress urinary incontinence
• Experience vaginal dryness or decreased sensation
• Want a non-surgical, hormone-free treatment
• Are in good overall health
A private consultation is required to confirm candidacy and determine an individualized treatment plan.
At En Sante Med, our board certified and well experienced doctors, leverage high precision laser technology to restore and revive vaginal tissue with no downtime
Intimalase is a non-surgical, non-ablative laser skin tightening and tissue repair procedure that stimulates collagen production, improve blood supply and improve nerve function to restore and enhance sensation during intimacy.
Unlike surgery, IntimaLase® does not involve incisions, sutures, or general anesthesia. For many patients, this makes it appealing as a minimally invasive option for intimate wellness concerns related to vaginal laxity or changes after childbirth and aging.
Patients often ask about IntimaLase® because they want a treatment that is discreet, relatively quick, and does not require significant downtime. During a consultation at En Santé Med, your provider can determine whether IntimaLase® is appropriate for your concerns or whether another approach may be a better fit.
Radiofrequency vaginal rejuvenation treatments use heat energy to warm tissue and stimulate collagen production. Like laser-based treatments, radiofrequency options are typically non-surgical and may be used for intimate wellness concerns such as laxity or tissue quality.
The main difference is the type of energy used. IntimaLase® uses Er laser energy, while radiofrequency devices use electromagnetic energy to generate heat. Both approaches are designed to create a controlled thermal effect, but they may differ in treatment depth, device technology, treatment sensation, protocol, and candidacy.
Surgical vaginal tightening, sometimes called vaginoplasty, is a more invasive procedure that may involve removing or tightening tissue and repairing deeper structural laxity. Surgery may be appropriate for certain patients with more significant anatomical concerns, especially when tissue laxity is severe or associated with pelvic floor changes.
IntimaLase® is different because it is non-surgical. It does not physically remove tissue or reconstruct the vaginal canal. Instead, it uses controlled laser energy to support collagen remodeling.
IntimaLase® may offer advantages such as:
No surgical incisions
No general anesthesia
Minimal interruption to daily activities
A gradual, natural-feeling treatment process
A discreet in-office experience
Surgery may be more appropriate when:
Structural laxity is significant
A patient needs anatomical correction beyond tissue remodeling such as correction of or vaginal laceration episiotomy scar
Non-surgical treatments are unlikely to meet the desired goal
A gynecologic surgeon specialist recommends surgical repair
Patients who want a non-surgical option often start by asking whether IntimaLase® can help them avoid surgery. In some cases, it may be a reasonable approach. In others, surgery or pelvic floor evaluation may be more appropriate. A consultation is the safest way to determine the right path.
Hormone therapy is commonly used for symptoms related to genitourinary syndrome of menopause, including vaginal dryness, irritation, burning, discomfort with intimacy, and urinary symptoms. Local vaginal estrogen or other prescribed therapies may help improve tissue health when symptoms are related to hormonal changes.
IntimaLase® and hormone therapy are not the same type of treatment. IntimaLase® is an energy-based procedure intended to support tissue tightening and collagen remodeling. Hormone therapy is a medication-based approach that addresses estrogen-related tissue changes.
Hormone therapy may be appropriate for patients with:
Vaginal dryness
Burning or irritation
Pain with intimacy related to menopausal tissue changes
Recurrent urinary discomfort associated with menopause
Thinning or fragile vaginal tissue
IntimaLase® may be considered for patients with:
Vaginal laxity
Post-childbirth tissue changes
A desire for non-surgical tissue support
Intimate wellness concerns not fully addressed by topical therapy alone
Some patients may benefit from a combination approach, while others may be better served by one treatment category. En Santé Med can help guide this decision based on your symptoms, goals, and medical history.
Pelvic floor physical therapy is one of the most important non-surgical options for pelvic health. It focuses on strengthening, relaxing, coordinating, or rehabilitating the pelvic floor muscles. This can be especially helpful for urinary leakage, pelvic pressure, postpartum recovery, discomfort with intimacy, and muscle dysfunction.
IntimaLase targets vaginal tissue support and has some indirect pelvic muscle and tone stimulation, while pelvic floor therapy targets muscle function. These are related but different parts of intimate health.
Pelvic floor therapy may be ideal for patients with:
Urinary leakage with coughing, laughing, sneezing, or exercise
Pelvic floor weakness after childbirth
Pelvic pain or muscle tightness
Difficulty with core and pelvic coordination
Symptoms that are primarily muscle-related
IntimaLase® may be considered when:
The concern is more related to vaginal laxity or tissue support
The patient wants a non-surgical laser option
A provider determines that tissue remodeling may be beneficial
The patient does not have contraindications to treatment
Lubricants, vaginal moisturizers, and topical products can be helpful for dryness, friction, and comfort during intimacy. They are accessible, non-procedural, and often a good first step for mild symptoms.
However, topical products do not tighten tissue or stimulate collagen remodeling in the same way that energy-based treatments are intended to. They may improve comfort, but they are not designed to address vaginal laxity or structural tissue changes.
Topical products may be useful for:
Temporary dryness
Friction during intimacy
Mild irritation
Everyday moisture support
Patients who are not ready for procedures
IntimaLase® may be considered when:
The goal is tissue tightening or improved vaginal support
Topical products are not enough
Symptoms are related to laxity rather than dryness alone
The patient wants a provider-administered treatment plan
Topicals can still play a valuable role in intimate wellness, even for patients who choose IntimaLase®. Your provider may recommend supportive products as part of a broader treatment plan.
Some clinics offer injectable or regenerative treatments for intimate wellness, such as platelet-rich plasma-based therapies. These options are typically marketed for sexual wellness, sensitivity, lubrication, or tissue quality.
IntimaLase® is different because it is laser-based and focuses on controlled thermal stimulation of vaginal tissue. Injectable treatments involve placing a substance into targeted tissue areas and may be used for different goals.
IntimaLase® may be a better fit for patients focused on:
Vaginal laxity
Tissue tightening
Non-surgical laser treatment
Internal vaginal tissue support
Injectable or regenerative treatments may be considered for patients focused on:
Sensitivity
Lubrication
External or localized tissue concerns
Sexual wellness goals unrelated to laxity
Because these treatments are often marketed with broad claims, it is important to have a medically grounded consultation before choosing an option.
IntimaLase uses a 2.94 μm Er:YAG laser in Fotona’s SMOOTH mode to deliver non‑ablative, thermally confined pulses to the vaginal mucosa. This mode is designed to avoid penetration or disruption of the mucosal surface while inducing collagen remodeling and tightening. Clinical series report it as efficient, easy to perform, and generally safe for vaginal relaxation syndrome, with no significant intra‑ or post‑operative complications in reported cohorts.
From a comparative standpoint, IntimaLase’s non‑ablative profile hence there is virtually no risk of burns, scarring, and prolonged healing compared to ablative CO₂ systems such as Mona Lisa Touch.
ThermiVa which is a radiofrequency to heat the vulvovaginal tissues without ablation. RF energy is delivered via a wand at or just above body temperature settings (e.g., around 40–45°C), with real‑time temperature monitoring. ThermiVa is generally safe however, there have been reported cases of burns and blisters as it has higher operator dependance for precision. Intimalase uses intelligent robotic sequence to deliver non-ablative health in a 360 degree manner that is optimized for patient comfort and safety.

I decided to have the Intimalase /Incontilase combined procedure for myself and to my surprise my hubby and I found our rhythm again. Don’t get me wrong, our relationship was great before, who knew there were other levels.
I felt improvement after the first treatment and by the third treatment I was trilled and happy I made the decision to get Intimalase. As a divorcee in my early 40s, I feel confident in my body and have a happier outlook on life and what the future may bring.
I decided to have the procedure for myself and my husband. I feel it has improved our relationship and brought us closer to where we were before life got chaotic. I take good care of myself. My insides deserve care too.
Intimalase® is performed in-office and typically takes 20–30 minutes.
During the procedure:
• A specialized laser handpiece is gently inserted into the vaginal canal
• Controlled Er:YAG laser energy heats vaginal tissue
• Collagen remodeling and tissue tightening are stimulated
• No anesthesia, injections, or incisions are required
Most patients describe the treatment as warm and comfortable.
Preparation for Intimalase® is minimal. Before treatment:
• A confidential medical consultation is completed
• Medical history and symptoms are reviewed
• Vaginal infections must be treated prior to the procedure
• Sexual activity may be avoided for 24–48 hours before treatment
Be sure to drink plenty of water to hydrate before and after the procedure
Eat a high protein low carbohydrate and anti-inflammatory diet
Your provider will give clear pre-treatment instructions based on your health profile.
The cost of Intimalase® varies based on:
• Number of treatment sessions required
• Individual anatomy and goals
• Whether Intimalase® is combined with other pelvic treatments
Most patients require 2–4 sessions for optimal results. Intimalase costs $2000-$3,500
A detailed cost estimate is provided during your consultation after a personalized treatment plan is created.
Intimalase it quite comfortable and does not need any internal anesthesia or numbing. A small application of lidocaine gel is placed at the introitus for added comfort as this area is understandably sensitive to heat. Patients report feeling mild pressure and warmth during the procedure and have rated the discomfort level 1-3 out of 10
Depending on the severity of laxity and the condition of the vaginal tissue, 2-4 sessions may be needed. Most patients need 3 sessions to complete the protocol.
Intimalase results may last about 12-24 months. Most patients choose to have maintenance treatments to counter the effects of natural aging with time.
Intimalase is generally not covered by insurance however, is HSA and FSA eligible. Some insurance companies do provide partial reimbursement to patients in their plans.
Intimalase is non-ablative which means there is no injury to the surface of the vaginal mucosa, unlike Mona Lisa Touch CO2 laser, which is ablative and has some downtime and a small but possible risk of burns, blisters and scarring.
Intimalase is mainly performed for laxity however, it can help with urinary incontinence symptoms. Incontilase, which is a procedure that is also performed with Fotona Erbium Laser technology, is designed specifically to help decrease urinary incontinence symptoms.
Good candidates for Intimalase are women who feel pelvic pressure, laxity from childbirth, or have a size / fit discrepancy with their partner which decreases sensation during intercourse and affects the emotional stability and wellbeing for both.
