How is PCOS treated?

Treatment for PCOS involves reducing excess male hormones.  This can be achieved through diet and nutrition modification, weight reduction, supplements and prescription medications. Acne scars can be treated with micro-needling and topical agents. Some women will need laser hair removal to reduce excess facial hair while working to suppress excessive hair growth.   Care should be taken to ensure patients don’t shed the hair on their head during treatment. Improving hormone levels typically helps to improve depression and infertility.
