Abnormal Uterine Bleeding is a common problem.   Excessive heavy, frequent or irregular bleeding.  Bleeding during menses that is heavy or last longer than 7 days is abnormal.

Any bleeding that occurs in women who have reached menopause is abnormal and needs to be evaluated.

What Should You do About Abnormal Bleeding?

Make an appointment to be evaluated.   Abnormal bleeding is evaluated with pelvic ultrasound, hysteroscopy (A tiny camera used to look inside the uterus), Endometrial Biopsy or sampling and a general pelvic exam.
